RUSSIAN STATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR
1.0 Call for Application
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology wishes to inform the general public that the Russian State Scholarship Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year is now open. Eligible Tanzanians are invited to apply for Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies in various fields offered at Russian Universities.
2.0 Application requirements
Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
i. Have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with a minimum of Division II;
ii. Have a Diploma with a GPA of not less than 3.5 in related fields;
iii. Hold a Bachelor of Art/ Bachelor of Science degree with GPA not less than 3.5 (Masters applicants);
iv. Hold a Master's degree (PhD applicants); and
v. Applicants are recommended to attend the Russian language courses at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture for at least six months during the application process.
3.0. Scholarship coverage
This is a partial scholarship. It covers tuition fees only.
Applicants will be responsible for meeting the costs of accommodation, travel expenses, healthcare/insurance, stationery, and visa fees.
NB: The Government of Tanzania does not provide any loan or grant support for candidates awarded under this Scholarship.

The following are list of documents to be included in the application package:
i. Copies of academic certificates and transcripts and
ii. Scanned copies of the passport biodata page
5.0 Application process and submission
i. Applicants must register and complete the online application form at: https://education-in-russia.com
ii. For details on study programmes in Russian Universities, visit: https://studyinrussia.ru/en/
iii. After filling in all required fields, submit the application online by clicking the green button.
iv. The deadline for submission is 15 January 2026 at 23:59 HRs (EAT). Incomplete applications or those submitted through other channels will not be considered.
