Position: Research Assistants (3 Posts)

OVERVIEW
Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) is the leading medical training and research institution in Tanzania. MUHAS is dedicated to quality training of healthcare professionals and conducting ground breaking research for betterment of the Tanzanian population. MUHAS seek to recruit dedicated Research Assistants to join the research team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Research Assistants will be based in Mkinga District, Tanga region. Successful candidates will be based at the project setting in Tanga and will be responsible for the overall data collection activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a strategic link with stakeholders in Mkinga District.
- To collect and enter data using statistical software in community settings, in accordance with the approved study protocol.
- To ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of all data collected through ongoing quality control.
- Provide support to other research staff.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma certificate in any medical related field (Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing).
- At least 1 year working experience in related work.
- Experience in field research is desirable.
- Familiarity with Mkinga context is an added advantage.
- Valid registration with related Board will be an added advantage.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Basic understanding of research methodologies.
- Proficient in data collecting software (e.g., RedCap, ODK, and KoboToolbox, etc).
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly.
- Enthusiasm for research.
- Ability to multitask without compromising the quality of the output work.
- Team player.
RENUMERATION
An attractive and competitive renumeration package will be offered to successful candidates.
DURATION
The duration of work contract will be 1 month with potential for renewal based on performance and/or availability of funds.
