JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The District Executive Director of Chato District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for six (06) job vacancies in this Council, following approval from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:

1.0 DRIVER GRADE II - 1 POST

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety condition.
ii. To transport staff to various locations on official trips.
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs.
iv. To collect and distribute various documents.
v. To fill out and maintain records of all trips in the trip logbook.
vi. To clean the vehicle.
vii. To perform any other duties as assigned by his Supervisor.

1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

Must have a Form IV Certificate and a Class E or C driving license, with a clean driving record of at least one (1) year without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective license classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA College or another Government-recognized institution.

2.0 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT GRADE II – 2 POSTS

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To coordinate all Community Development activities with a gender perspective.
ii. To encourage communities at the family level in designing, planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating their development plans or projects.
iii. To promote the abandonment of harmful traditions/customs and to foster a positive attitude towards change.
iv. To educate the community on implementing gender issues.
v. To encourage the community to use appropriate and simple technology.
vi. To educate the community on the importance of reporting various incidents such as disease outbreaks, markets, production of goods, food, employment, and gender-based violence.
vii. To encourage the community to join Adult Education.
viii.To educate the community on Children's issues.
ix. To collect, analyze, and maintain gender-disaggregated statistics that will enable the community to plan their programs.

2.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

Must have completed Form IV or Form VI with a Technician Certificate (NTA level 5) in the field of Community Development from a Government-recognized institution.

2.1.2 SALARY LEVEL

3.0 RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT GRADE II - 1 POST

3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To search for records/documents/files required by readers.
ii. To control the receipt and registration of records/documents.
iii. To analyze, list, and arrange records/documents into groups according to subject (Classification and Boxing) for office use.
iv. To store/arrange records/documents on file racks/cabinets in record storage rooms/vaults.
v. To handle requests for Records/Documents from Government Institutions.
vi. To perform any other duties assigned by his Supervisor.

3.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education, and possess a Certificate in Records Management in the field of Archives from Government-recognized institutions.

3.1.2 SALARY LEVEL

4.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II - 2 POSTS

4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. To prepare and type letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents according to instructions and to distribute letters and documents to relevant parties inside or outside the office.
ii. To receive visitors, listen to their problems, and direct them to where they can be assisted.
iii. To maintain records of events, appointments, meeting dates, trips of his/her superior, and other schedules.
iv. To search for files and documents needed in the execution of work responsibilities.
v. To receive files and distribute them to officers in the relevant department/unit/section.
vi. To collect, maintain, and return files and documents to the relevant sections.
vii. To arrange excerpts and make preparations for various meetings.
viii.To prepare a list of office equipment requirements.
ix. To perform any other duties assigned by his/her Supervisor.

4.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education, with a Diploma in Secretarial Services. Additionally, must have passed a subject in Shorthand in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and training in computer programs.

4.1.2 SALARY LEVEL

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years, except for those already employed in the Public Service.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must indicate the type of disability in the Recruitment System for information to the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.
iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a reliable address, accessible telephone numbers, and an Email address, together with the names of three reliable referees.
iv. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Academic and Professional Certificates by a Lawyer/Attorney, which are Form IV or Form VI Certificates for those who reached that level and certificates for completing various trainings according to the requirements of the specific job. Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates – Form IV and VI Examination Certificates – Computer Certificate, Professional Certificates (from Respective Boards).
v. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, Form IV and Form VI Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
vi. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and validated by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
vii. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
viii.Applicants for jobs who are already employed in intern positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the instructions in Circular Letter No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
ix. Presentation of forged information and qualifications will lead to legal action.
x. Applicants whose names differ in their documents must submit a sworn Affidavit for Name Change (Deed Poll) registered by the Ministry of Lands.
xi. The deadline for submitting applications is 18th November, 2025.
