JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Public Service Commission announces job vacancies for the Ministry of Health at the Mental Illness Hospital (Pandani) in Pemba, as follows:
- Specialist Medical Doctor for Mental Illness (Psychiatrist) Grade I (ZPSK-07) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Master’s Degree in Psychiatry from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Medical Doctor Grade II (ZPSJ-09) - 7 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Human Medicine from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Counseling Advisor (Clinical Psychologist) Grade I (ZPSK-07) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Master’s Degree in the field of Clinical Psychology from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Counseling Advisor (Psychologist) Grade II (ZPSJ-09) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Psychology from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.

Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Master’s Degree in the field of Nursing from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Nurse Grade III (ZPSF-01) - 26 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Occupational Health Officer Grade II (ZPSG-09) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Pharmacist Grade II (ZPSF-09) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Qualified Laboratory Technician Grade III (ZPSF-01) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Diploma in Laboratory Technology from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Social Welfare Officer Grade II (ZPSF-02) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Social Work from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- ICT Officer Grade II (ZPSG-04) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.

Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Diploma in Storekeeping or Procurement and Supplies from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Administration Officer Grade II (ZPSG-06) - 1 Post – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Public Administration or Human Resource Management from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Staff Quality Officer Grade II (ZPSG-06) - 1 Post – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Environmental and Laboratory Science "Medical Laboratory Science" from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
· Priority will be given to those with a "Quality Management System" certificate.
- Infection Control Officer Grade II (ZPSG-06) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Infection Control from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
- Qualified Biomedical Equipment Technician Grade III (ZPSG-06) - 1 Post – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
AMENDMENT TO JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (21st October, 2025)
The Public Service Commission has made a minor amendment to its job vacancy announcement for the Ministry of Health which was released on 20th October, 2025.
The position of Records Clerk Grade III has been removed and replaced with the position of Assistant Health Statistics Officer Grade III as follows:
- Assistant Health Statistics Officer Grade III (ZPSF-10) - 2 Posts – Pemba
Applicant Qualifications:
· Must be a Zanzibari aged not over 46 years.
· Must possess a Diploma in Health Statistics or Health Information from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
